Canadian Center for Mapping and Earth Observation
CCMEO, through PWGSC (Public Works Government Services Canada) signed a contract with SED to provide four TT&C and automated (lights-out) satellite tracking stations to be deployed in across Canada. This system provided 13 meter antennas, transmit and receive equipment and software that would allow automated X-band data reception from polar orbiting remote sensing satellites (Radarsat 1, 2, Landsat etc.).
All four antenna systems included civil works, design, installation and commissioning. In northern locations, SED’s contract included the design and development of a roadway into the forested area, an operations building, diesel backup power generation and an uninterruptable power supply system.
