SED offers design adaptation to transform product designs for customers around the globe so they can be manufactured in North America. Production of a design which has its’ origin in Europe can often be problematic for North American manufacturers.
Benefits of North American made products include a verified and reliable supply chain, quality components, reduced shipping costs, plus more Canadian content for ITB requirements.
SED has substantial experience in analyzing foreign designs and adapting them for production using components and processes common to North America. In some cases, the original design authority no longer exists, and SED fills that role.
Design adaptation capabilities:
- Process adaptation. Metallurgy, casting process and PWB specifications are analyzed and converted to North American standards
- Component selection. Often cost savings are available when components are available from North American distributors.
- Design control. All changes are fully documented and traceable through our CM system.
